| TCM
is increasingly integrated as an adjunct therapy in treating
chronic degenerative diseases. This part of the conference
offers a broad and comprehensive overview of how TCM can be
integrated with allopathic medicine in the clinical setting
in three workshops conducted by the faculty of the Singapore
College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The college has produced
more than 1620 qualified TCM Practitioners since its inception.
It currently offers joint Bachelor, Masters and Doctoral degree
courses with Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and Guangzhou
University of Chinese Medicine. It received overwhelming response
for its recently launched English diploma course for doctors.

The
TCM workshops are lead by Dr. Swee Yong Peng (SIN), who
is the first in Singapore to hold practicing licenses in
both Western medicine and Chinese medicine. A plenary overview
of TCM and its integration into medical practice is presented
by Prof. Leong Ping Chung (HK), Professor of Orthopaedics
& Traumatology, Faculty of Medicine; Director of the
Centre for Clinical Trials on Chinese Medicine; The Chinese
