Dr. Sylvester Yong has been in private practice for almost 30 years. His interests include Geriatric medicine
and colonic hydrotherapy. He has represented Singapore as its representative to the Asean World Congress
of Gerontology for a number of years. Departing from his original interest in Geriatric Medicine where
Dr. Yong founded the Gerontological Society in 1984, he founded the Holistic Health Society in 1994. In October
2007 he was invited to assume the position of pro tem President of the Society for Integrative Medicine Singapore.
He is active in many social and welfare organizations in Singapore and maintains a strong interest in Gerontology
as a contributing writer for various magazines as well as having chaired a session at the World Congress of
Gerontology held in Vancouver in 2001.
